Welcome to The Meeting House

Sorry, but The Meeting House is not available for short-term holidays. Instead, we are offering longer-term lets for at least 6 months. If you would be interested in getting away for a long period, please get in touch.

The Meeting House was built in the 1840s, originally as a school to educate local children. Situated on the shores of Loch Kishorn (sea loch), the building was entirely renovated in 2018 and now provides a romantic bolt-hole and very comfortable and attractive holiday accommodation for two people.

Testimonials

Comments from The Meeting House Visitors’ Book:

“Well, what a lovely house, in a lovely location. Our first time in this part of Scotland, but what a gem. So many lovely places to visit, and things to do. The weather was changeable, but so incredibly atmospheric – waterfalls, cloud formation and rainbows! Kishorn Seafood Bar just a 10 minute walk up the road. We are just blown away by the solitude and general hospitality here. We loved The Meeting House. Thank you”.

“Probably the most beautiful place we have stayed, in over more than 40 years visiting Scotland. Only travelled short distances, but have enjoyed amazing scenery, great walking and mix of wildlife. Mix of weather and light add to the beauty. Hope we have the privilege  of returning here.”

“The Meeting House has provided us with every comfort. Four stags having a paddle, two red throated divers and two otters seen on the beach, right outside the door.”

“The Meeting House was amazing – a beautifully renovated space, which was warm and well thought out. Loved the remote-controlled Velux windows! Even saw the otters on our last night.”

“The Meeting House is lovely, very welcoming. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. We loved the views, especially when sitting outside with a G & T.  Over the week, we had visits from deer and many birds.”

“Searching the web I was looking for my ideal house - walking distance to a restaurant and ideal location for views and walking. We were not disappointed. The Meeting House was perfection, and people were very friendly in the area.”

“We had a wonderful two weeks in this house. A view that makes you happy. We saw all kinds of birds, an otter, seals, black throated divers, mergansers, white tailed eagle…the weather was nice.”

“We have had a lovely time here…swimming every day from the beach right in front of the cottage...and The Seafood Bar: great food, lovely service and view over the loch while eating. Good walks round bay, and into woods too.”

“Lovely, comfortable cottage, brilliant conversion, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Otters in the bay here this morning, sea birds everywhere, mergansers, eider duck, oyster catchers, herons, ravens…”

“Enjoyed a wonderful week in a captivating and beautiful location. The Meeting House was fabulous, comfortable and had everything we needed.”

“Thank you Alastair and Carol for making us so welcome. The Meeting House was exceptional, and the location was perfect. We managed to travel the west side of the Highlands, following the NC500 route, and were not disappointed. We will have to come back again.  *****5 Star Experience.”

“Last minute holiday, and what a wonderful time we have had. The weather has been glorious, and the autumn colours have added to the beauty all around us. This renovation is superb, and we have appreciated the comfort of the bed and the huge pillows. The season’s last dinner at the Kishorn Seafood Bar was very good. Wish it could have been longer!”
